E+H advised Hödlmayr International GmbH on the planned acquisition of the commercial vehicle division of Gartner KG. The transaction will significantly strengthen the Hödlmayr Group’s market position in the high & heavy haul logistics sector.
The transaction encompasses Gartner KG’s commercial high & heavy vehicle business, including an established customer portfolio and a specialized fleet for heavy transport. The division will be integrated into Hödlmayr High & Heavy GmbH in the future. Hödlmayr expects the planned acquisition to generate significant synergies in transport organization and fleet management.
Hödlmayr International is a leading European specialist in vehicle logistics. The family-owned company covers the entire value chain from transport to distribution and most recently generated revenues of approximately 445 million euros with around 1,900 employees.
The transaction is still subject to the usual regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2026.
“The acquisition of Gartner KG’s commercial high & heavy vehicle division is a significant step for our company. It enables us to expand our offerings in a targeted manner and provide our customers with even more comprehensive and integrated logistics solutions in the high & heavy sector,” explains Johannes A. Hödlmayr, CEO of Hödlmayr International GmbH.
“The logistics sector is in flux, and with this acquisition, Hödlmayr is making a clear statement in the market. We are pleased that we were able to advise on this important transaction for Hödlmayr with our M&A expertise, thereby laying the foundation for further growth in the specialized high & heavy industry,” explains Dr. Clemens Lanschützer, Head of the E+H Team.
The Budapest office of the law firm Lynx advised on the Hungarian aspects of the transaction. The cross-border collaboration ensured the smooth execution of legal due diligence and contractual implementation.
