E+H advised BE Energy GmbH – a subsidiary of Burgenland Energie AG and one of the leading companies in the field of renewable energies in Austria – on completing the second largest rooftop photovoltaic plant in Europe.
The photovoltaic system has a total capacity of 20 MWp and is located on the roof of the XXXLutz central warehouse in Zurndorf (Burgenland), covering an area of around 200,000 square meters. It is expected to generate more than 20 million kilowatt hours of clean solar power per year and represents another important step towards climate neutrality and energy independence in Burgenland.
The project was implemented by BE Energy GmbH as part of a joint venture with PÜSPÖK Erneuerbare Energie GmbH.
“We are delighted to have provided legal support to BE Energy in the successful implementation of this pioneering energy project. Projects of this magnitude not only make a significant contribution to the energy transition, but also raise the bar for creative legal planning and solutions,” says Christoph Lejsek, Partner at E+H and lead advisor.
