E+H successfully advised ECOwind, an Austrian general contractor for wind and solar projects, on the sale of the wind farm “Steinberger Alpe” and the wind turbine “Soboth” in an international bidding process. Kelag, a leading Austrian energy company, emerged as the winning bidder.<\/p>\n

The wind farm “Steinberger Alpe” and the wind turbine “Soboth” are the first wind farms in the province of Carinthia and generate around 60 MW of green electricity per year. This corresponds to the average annual consumption of about 13,000 households.<\/p>\n

E+H, under the leadership of Tatjana Katalan, a specialist in environmental law and renewable energies and co-head of the Public Law Practice Group, has already handled the approval process for the wind farm projects.<\/p>\n

ECOwind, a subsidiary of the German BayWa r.e., has been developing, planning, and constructing renewable energy projects in the fields of wind power and photovoltaics (PV) in Austria and CEE since 1995. ECOwind’s portfolio ranges from wind farms to innovative large-scale ground-mounted photovoltaic projects.<\/p>\n

“We are pleased that our team was able to successfully support ECOwind from the initial planning stages to obtaining the permits for the wind farm projects and now again in the sales process,” says Tatjana Katalan. “The cooperation with ECOwind and Kelag was extremely constructive, enabling a swift implementation of the transaction and thus another step towards the energy transition,” adds Clemens Lansch\u00fctzer.<\/p>\n
